Whitening is such a magical word to me that I will sub-consciously be drawn to beauty products with skin whitening effect. Confession: Fair skin is my ultimate life goal. Not discriminating on skin colour but I really like my skin to look fair and bright. Due to my job nature, I have to work under the scorching sun for most of the time so I work tremendously hard to keep my skin fair. (It seems like I have repeated the same thing over and over in this blog but what I want to emphasize is that my fair complexion does not come without efforts!) I have done a lot to maintain my skin complexion and today, I’m going to share a few trusty whitening products from Klairs with you guys.

I personally think that the Klairs’ tagline translates the brand’s concept perfectly and I can’t agree more with it. When I was preparing this review and going through my beauty stash, I realized that I have so many products from Klairs in my drawer including their BB cream, Black Sugar Facial Scrub, Organic Soap, Facial Mask and Mochi Cushion – All of them works so well that they have become my staple skin care.

Today I’m going to focus on whitening care products at night and let’s start with Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil. As I mentioned for umpteen times in this blog, cleansing is the most important skin care step, but often be neglected by most of the people. Thorough and deep cleansing can remove gunk and dirt from your pores, hence enhancing the absorption of subsequent skin care products. I wear make up to work every day so I’m extra cautious when it comes to make up remover. Usually I will have 2 bottles of make up remover on my vanity table and switch between them – a cleansing oil and a water based micellar water. (Well there are times when I switch among 3 bottles of make up remover when I want to try out new product). Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil is one of the regular on my vanity table for its excellent cleansing and whitening properties.

Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil is an extremely light oil where waterproof make up can be melted in seconds. One pump of the product is abundant to remove all make up from your face. One thing to take note is that the cleansing oil is so light and watery that it might flow from your palm to your elbow and cause a mess. Therefore, remember to pump the oil little by little to avoid the mess. 

I like to use cleansing oil to remove waterproof make up and sunblock because the oil can emulsify the stubborn make up in a breeze. Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil is such an effective cleansing oil that it manages to dissolve matte liquid lipstick effortlessly. What I love about Klairs Gentle Black Deep Cleansing Oil is that it leaves my skin so well moisturized, soft and bouncy, the skin care effects are really significant!

Do note that the serum is very sensitive to sunlight and heat due to its high concentration of Vitamin C. The best way to preserve all the goodness in the serum is to keep it refrigerated and chilled. 

I noticed that the serum is lighter and more watery as compared to its precedent, which is great for product absorption by the skin. The serum is absorbed instantly upon application, leaving behind a fresh and dry finish, as if nothing has been applied on. The serum has a mild tangy and citric scent due to its high concentration of Vitamin C and I'm sure that you will love the refreshing scent. 

Some of you might be worried that 21.5% of pure vitamin C will be too strong to your skin but rest assured, it's quite gentle to skin. I have really thin epidermal layer and the serum did not cause any discomfort to my skin, except a slight tingling sensation above my lips and it's totally bearable. 

Speaking of its whitening effect, I have to be frank that the effects do take some time to come into sight. Don't expect that the serum will brighten your complexion in 1 week. In all fairness, this is skin care, not make up. The whitening effect is significant and noticeable after finishing the whole bottle of serum so be patient and keep using it regularly, you will definitely be rewarded with a brighter and fairer skin.

Next, let's moisturize your skin with Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask. I dare say that Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask is the most highly raved K-beauty mask among my friends in 2017, everyone is using it except me! (I know I'm a slowpoke) The holographic packaging is super eye-captivating that I'm still keeping the pretty box in my drawer lol!

When I thought that this is just another sleeping mask, it actually does a lot more than that. Vitamin E is a major lipid-soluble antioxidant in skin which can be found in most of the skin’s epidermis, dermis and stratum corneum. Therefore, a low Vitamin E level in skin will weaken the skin's protective function, hence allowing harmful foreign substances to invade and cause aging of the skin. I was a bit skeptical when I know that there is only one shade available, I was like, how could one shade miraculously matches all the skin tones? The truth is, it indeed can match most of the Asian's skin tones. 

Mochi BB Cushion has an apricot-beige tone that complements both yellow and red skin undertone in a natural way. It neutralizes the redness of the skin and meanwhile, it is able to brighten dull and uneven skin tone. Klairs Mochi BB Cushion is a light cushion that provide medium coverage.
