Althea Korea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser Review

I know I have repeated this for countless time but girls, Althea Korea products are seriously so good and so cheap! I just tried out their Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser and it's so mind blowing, I need to share it with you girls immediately on this space!

First thing first, I would like to do a brief introduction on the cleanser because its name is a bit confusing. Well at least I felt confused at the very first glance. Serum Cleanser? I have never seen something like this before! In fact, this bottle of Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser is a purifying cleanser with a serum-like formula that removes makeup, dirt and oil without drying out the skin. At the same time, it also balances the pH levels of the skin to ensure it stays healthy. After trying out the product myself, I will say that this is a bottle of makeup remover + toner/serum.

So the main functions of Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser are

• Makeup remover that cleanses your pores thoroughly
• pH balancing toner that maintains a healthy skin pH range between 5.5-6.5
• Moisturizing serum with a dual moisture cell system that boosts your skin with hydration
• Mild exfoliator that removes dead skin cells gently with pure Mint extracts

The next question is, how and when to use the Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser? There are 2 different ways to use the product depends on the effects you would like to achieve. If you would like to remove your makeup, use it like a cleansing oil. If you would like to cleanse your skin (without makeup), use it like a facial cleanser.

To remove makeup:

Step 1: Pour an adequate amount of the product onto the palm of your hand. 

Step 2: Massage the product all over your skin in circular motions to remove dirt and makeup.

Step 3: Rinse off the residue with water. You may also use a second cleanser to completely remove any residue.

To cleanse the skin:

Step 1: Dampen the skin and apply an adequate amount of the product onto the palm of your hand.

Step 2: Gently massage the product all over your skin in circular motions for 5-10 seconds before rinsing it off with water.

This multipurpose cleanser is so mind blowing. I have never thought there are so many things that one cleanser can do. I'm going to share my verdicts in term of each functions that it claims to offer so that you can have a better idea on the effectiveness of this cleanser. 

Makeup Remover

In term of removing makeup, the cleanser does a great job in removing all the makeup on my face, including the stubborn lipsticks and mascara. I love that the consistency of the cleanser is watery and lightweight, just like a micellar water. In fact, I don't need a double cleansing (which I usually do) because my skin is very much squeaky clean after the makeup removing session. The cleanser is quite mild and it's great for people with sensitive skin like me. There is no tingling sensation at all. 

pH Balancing Toner
It actually works great as a toner! My skin is soft and moist after using the cleanser, just like what a toner will do to my skin.

Moisturizing Serum
I have not seen much effects and results on the serum function. My skin does feel well hydrated after using Althea Korea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser, but not to the extend that I can skip my moisturizer and serum. I believe the product does play a part in moisturizing, but my dry skin still needs a cream for better hydration and moisturization.

Mild Exfoliator 
Yes! The cleanser gently removes my dead skin cells while removing the make up, it's really mild but I like it!

In a nutshell, Althea Korea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser definitely deserves the second purchase as a great make up remover. I totally don't mind to use it on a daily basis as a mild exfoliator as well. At the price of RM33, this product deserves every penny of mine!
