ROOTREE Cryptherapy Revital Toner & Cryptherapy Renewing Cream Review

Hello everyone! I had a really busy Q3 that I barely have free time for myself, let alone blogging, hence the lack of update here. I can't wait for September to end and kick start my Q4, which is supposed to be a more relaxing quarter for me. I have never had any year weirder than 2020, and I'm still trying hard to adapt myself to all the new norms. I don't get to step out of my house as often and hence, I noticed that my make up products can last me longer. It has been a while since I last emptied a bottle of BB cream or finished an eyeliner, I guess it means some savings on my pocket? 😜 Nonetheless, COVID-19 has no impact on my skin care regime, I still follow my skin care routine strictly regardless I'm working from home or going to the office. Recently, I bumped into this brand called ROOTREE and ladies, their packaging is so aesthetically pleasing! I tried 2 products: ROOTREE Cryptherapy Revital Toner and Cryptherapy Renewing Cream and will be sharing my thoughts in this post.

Look, how beautiful the packaging is? I especially adore the wooden bottle caps, the minimalist vibe is just irresistible. This is my first try on ROOTREE products and I would like to share a bit on the background of this brand. ROOTREE is a Korean brand that takes pride in organic and natural skin care products. 'ROOTREE' is a compound word of 'root' and 'tree' which means to enrich the skin's natural healing ability like the solid root of tree grown in clean Jeju forest.

My first impression on ROOTREE Cryptherapy Revital Toner is that it smells really natural. Unlike some other toners that come with artificial fragrance, there is a mild scent of herbs in this toner, which gives an instant soothing and calming effect. I double checked from their website and confirmed that ROOTREE products are free from 8 chemicals including parabens, talc, SLS/SLES, benzophenone, ethanol, mineral oil, triclosan and colorants.

In term of consistency, the toner is very lightweight, just like a lighter version of serum. I used the toner right after shower and the product was absorbed by my skin instantly. I love how the toner gives a refreshing sensation to my skin, especially when I use it in the morning.

I'm not a particular person when it comes to toner and I'm quite happy with ROOTREE Cryptherapy Revital Toner thus far. It does a great job in keeping my skin lightly hydrated, and facilitating the absorption of the subsequent skin care products, especially serum and essence. It's a plus point that the toner is made from organic and natural ingredients, I totally don't mind to repurchase the toner at its pocket-friendly price tag.

Next, we have ROOTREE Cryptherapy Renewing Cream, a moisturizer that "renews" dull skin. The cream is again, lightweight enough for an immediate product absorption. When patted on skin, I like how it sinks right in, and boosts my skin moisture. My skin does feel more moisturized and a little more plumped. I love how it preps my skin for a better make up application next. 

I love to use the cream for day, but not for night. The moisturizing effect is a bit insufficient for my dry skin, especially on my cheek area. At night, I need a richer moisturizer that can offer deep hydrating and moisturizing effect. I will recommend ROOTREE Cryptherapy Renewing Cream to people with oily skin type and combination skin type, I can see how the light cream will work wonders on oily skin without giving breakouts. 

In short, I'm satisfied with both ROOTREE Cryptherapy Revital Toner and Cryptherapy Renewing Cream and I'm excited to explore more products from this brand.
