Dr.Althea is a korean beauty brand that specializes in skincare for different types of skin with mild, pure ingredients from nature. I tried their sheet masks some time ago and it was really great. Let's deep cleanse, nourish and glow by using 4 best selling products from Dr. Althea:
- Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm
- Green Relief Amino Gel Cleanser
- Vitamin C Boosting Serum
- 345 Relief Cream
Step 1: Deep Cleanse
I personally see cleansing as the most important skin care step in a day. With a thorough and deep cleansing, I ensure my pores are free from dirt and sebum, hence preventing clogged pores and dull skin. When your skin is properly cleansed, the skin cells are able to absorb skin care products more effectively. I have been practicing double cleansing for years and I would recommend everyone who wears makeup regularly to do so. To deep cleanse, I remove make up using Dr.Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm, and double cleanse with Green Relief Amino Gel Cleanser.
Dr. Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm |
Formulated with 14 essential ingredients, Dr.Althea Pure Grinding Cleansing Balm offers a gentle cleansing experience for sensitive skin. The balm can remove sunscreen, makeup and waterproof products effortlessly through gentle massage and emulsification. I love how the balm is infused with Camellia Sinensis Seed Oil and Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, leaving my skin hydrated and moisturized for long hours.
As its name suggests, the cleansing balm is dispensed through a grinding mechanism. Just rotate the lid in clockwise direction, the hidden blade underneath the lid will grind the balm and dispense it. I really like the dispensing mechanism as it is hygienic and this eliminates the risk of product contamination.
The balm has no scent at all, it's a simple yet functional makeup remover. Just gently massage your skin (don't rub too hard) to dissolve all makeup, and emulsify the balm by adding some water to your skin. I tried the cleansing balm on waterproof mascara and lipstick, and I am happy to report that the balm managed to dissolve them effortlessly in no time.
Green Relief Amino Gel Cleanser |
Next, we shall double cleanse using Dr.Althea Green Relief Amino Gel Cleanser, a mild facial cleanser with minimal surfactants for a gentle cleansing.
The cleanser utilizes smaller bubbles for deep pore cleansing, at a mildly acidic pH range of 5.0-6.0 that helps to maintain the skin's natural barrier and offers gentle exfoliation without causing irritation. Green Relief Amino Gel Cleanser is very different from the convenient cream cleanser with generous and dense foam, it does not lather into much bubbles but rest assured that the cleansing effect is not discounted. My skin is clean, fresh and free from dirt after using Green Relief Amino Gel Cleanser. I would like to highlight that the gel cleanser is truly gentle that it does not leave my skin feeling tight and dehydrated, all thanks to its coconut-based and amino acid surfactants. Some key ingredients in the gel cleaner are Hyaluronic acid, Betula platyphylla japonica juice and betaine.
Step 2: Nourish & Glow
Dr.Althea Vitamin C Boosting Serum |
It's time to nourish the deeply cleansed skin with Dr.Althea Vitamin C Boosting Serum. The serum is made of 20% Vita boosting complex (combination of 9 types of vitamins) and Hyppophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, to deliver a high level of Vitamin C to the skin without causing any irritation. The serum is stable enough for daily usage.
Dr.Althea Vitamin C Boosting Serum is a multifunctional serum that can improve skin tone, suppress melanin pigmentation and promote cell regeneration, it's a brightening and anti-aging serum in a bottle! As age is catching up, I appreciate anti-aging serum more than before. I like that the serum is clear in color and it does not leave a yellow cast on my skin. I have tried vitamin C serums in brown/dark yellow color and they made me look like I have jaundice. :(
The serum is pretty lightweight, with product absorbed by skin instantly. I have been using the serum for 3 weeks and have observed a brighter, more radiant skin complexion. My skin health has greatly improved as well with less blemish and skin irritation on my chin and cheeks. Gentle reminder: Remember to use a sunscreen if you are using the Vitamin C Boosting Serum during day time.
Dr.Althea 345 Relief Cream |
If you have sensitive and ance-prone skin, then you gotta give 345 Relief Cream a try. As you can tell from its packaging, Dr.Althea 345 Relief Cream is an ointment gel cream that provides soothing care to inflamed skin post-acne.
This cream contains a potent blend of Niacinamide, Panthenol, and Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract, each present in significant concentrations of 10,000ppm, delivering numerous benefits for the skin.
- Niacinamide/Vitamin B3: Enhances the skin's moisture barrier, regulates oil production, fades dark spots and promotes an even skin tone
- Panthenol: Provides effective hydration, aids in healing minor irritations and soothes redness

Despite being an ointment cream, 345 Relief Cream is very lightweight, it does not feel heavy at all! The cream is free from artificial colors and fragrances, making it ideal for sensitive skin. Apply a thin layer of the ointment cream on your acne to facilitate healing and recovery. The cream does not feel greasy at all and it does not leave any white residue on skin. It is very gentle on skin, offers a long-lasting hydration to inflamed skin.
