Shawn goes to enjoy paragliding in Chungnam, drinking teas in a temple in Chungnam, and Baengnyeongdo Island(백령도). They get to finally meet at Busan Gwangandaegyo Bridge(부산 광안대교) at the end.

[Korean Culture] Hanbok [

The Hanbok is the traditional outfit of the Korean people. Koreans nowadays wear this outfit only on festive days or special anniversaries, however it was worn daily up until just 100 years ago. In the past, the type of Hanbok can show the society status of a person. Here are some pictures of myself in different types of Hanbok.
In the first photo, I was wearing a plain Hanbok made from cotton. The Hanbok is very plain and simple, without any prints and patterns on it. This is the most common type of Hanbok worn by most of the unwed women during the Joseon period.

[Korea Place] Sejong the Great 光化門廣場

[Korea Place] Sejong the Great was the fourth king of Joseon. Sejong reinforced Confucian policies and executed major legal amendments (공법; 貢法). He also oversaw the creation of Hangul, encouraged advancements of scientific technology, and instituted many other efforts to stabilize and improve prosperity. He dispatched military campaigns to the north and installed Samin Policy (사민정책; 徙民政策) to attract new settlers to the region. To the south, he subjugated Japanese raiders and captured Tsushima Island. If you have a chance to visit the statue of King Sejong at GwangHwaMun, don't forget to try on the traditional King's hanbok!

[Korea] Spring Festival Dates Moved Up as Flowers Bloom Early

How pretty the cherry is!
I really wish that I can have a chance to see cherry blossom flowers in one day.
Yeah, one day I will be there to witness all these, I know I will.

In Seoul today, due to sudden increase in the weather condition, the cherry blossom flowers are starting to bloom, so much faster than the expected date for this year! It goes the same with other regions too! For Seoul, the new date for Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival for this year will be April 3 ~ April 13 and the flowers are expected to be fully bloomed by the end of this week!

Many of the top spring flower sightseeing destinations across the country have been recording higher numbers of visitors each day, as warmer temperatures have caused flowers to bloom far earlier than originally forecast.

Gyeongsangnam-do’s spring flower festival, Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, marked its opening day on April 1, and will continue through April 10. Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival, a festival that is hugely popular among Seoul residents, has moved its festival dates to April 3-13, almost 10 days ahead of schedule. The festival in Yeouido will host a feast of flowers for the eyes, including 1,641 varieties of flowering cherry blossoms originating from Jeju Island, azaleas, forsythias, royal azaleas, and other spring harbingers. With 13 different species and 87,000 flowers, and the Han River as a backdrop, the full beauty of area will be hard to forget.

The coastal city of Gangneung’s favored festival, Gyeongpo Cherry Blossom Festival, is also just around the corner, opening on April 5 and continuing through April 13. Don’t miss out on the fantastic scenery at Gyeongpoho Lake, which has 4.3 km-long paths with cherry blossom and forsythia trees in full bloom. Other recommended destinations include Jeju Cherry Blossom Festival, to be held from April 4-6, and Moaksan Mountain Festival in Gimje, from April 18-20.

[Korea Place] Have you ever seen the cute cartoon in this photo? It is Pororo and it is the most popular cartoon character among Korean kids! (No joke! Pororo merchandises are everywhere in Seoul!) Located in Jamsil Lotte Theme Park, Pororo park is a mini theme park specially designed for children. Featuring Pororo and friends, Pororo Park is the best place for family outing. All of the facilities here were designed for children and everything is really small and cute! You can find mini Carousel, mini Ferris wheel and mini train here. Don't forget to pay a visit to Pororo Park when you're in Seoul!

Korean Folk Village

Have you watched the latest episode of Running Man? Yes! I'm referring to "You Who Came From The Stars" Special RM! This episode of Running Man was filmed in Korean Folk Village located at Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province. This village is the main filming location of many popular Korean dramas such as "The Jewels", "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" and many more. Korea Folk Village has recreated the life of Korean people through the exhibition of various household goods. It consists of hospital, market, jail, court, toilet and any of the public amenities that you can think of! It's just like a real village! At the same time, various handicrafts including pottery making, winnows, round bamboo baskets, bamboo ware, round willow baskets, Korean paper, brassware, knotting and embroidery, paper umbrellas, musical instruments, furniture, farming tools and accessories are exhibited here. They also prepare folk performance including farmer's music &dance, acrobatics on a tightrope, equestrian feats and traditional wedding ceremony. Thus, don't forget to check on the performance schedule before you go because I'm sure that you don't wish to miss any of them! (I missed the traditional wedding ceremony T.T)

Dolsot Bibimbap

[Korean Food] Dolsot Bibimbap 돌솥 비빔밥 is a dish not to be missed if you have a chance to travel to Korea! Serving in a sizzling hot stone bowl, Dolsot Bibimbap is the best dish to have during a cold day! There are 4 major ingredients in a Dolsot Bibimbap, which are warm white rice, seasoned vegetables, egg and the magical Korean chili paste-Go Chu Jang (고추장) ! All of these ingredients have to be thoroughly mixed in the hot stone bowl before eating and the raw egg will be cooked by the wall of the hot bowl! Personally I really love how the seaweed does the magic in this dish! Believe me, the seaweed makes the Dolsot Bibimbap divinely yummy! Don't forget to try Dolsot Bibimbap out when you are in Korea!
P/S: The first meal I had when I touched down in Korea is Dolsot Bibimbap!!
