I have received so many DMs from my followers after posting this photo on my
Instagram, everyone is curious about the event that I attended on last Saturday. As happening as JB seems to be (
some people told me that JB "looks" very happening, but I believe it's just a misunderstanding from the large scale cafe hopping by all the Johoreans), JB is not as eventful as compared to KL. One of the reasons is due to the immature blogosphere in JB, where there is still plenty room of improvement for Johor bloggers to grow. Therefore,
Guardian Malaysia decided to take the initiative to have a
Blogging Tips Sharing Session with the fellow JB bloggers, they even invited
Sunshine Kelly all the way from KL to help us improve!
Upon arrival at People & Places Cafe, we were welcomed by the friendly Guardian Malaysia Team Members, Bee and Farahani with a large goodies bag. While I was wondering at the weird combination of the goodies gifted to us (Glucerna, Guardian Hand Wash, Oral B toothbrushes and etc), Bee explained that these goodies are the discounted items under
Guardian Knockdown Prices programme for that particular week (20-22 April 2018). If you don't already know, Guardian Malaysia is having an insane promotion every
Friday to Sunday where they offer a wide range of products at the
lowest price in the market to benefit consumers. The best part is that they are going to have this promotion going on
every week for the rest of the year, just imagine how much we all can save! I'm going to camp for the discounted skin care and make up products, can't wait to know what items are being discounted this week.

Next, we proceeded to the sharing session which everyone anticipated the most. I have met Kelly in several events when I was still living in KL, but never have the chance to get to know her deeper. Through this meaningful sharing session, I get to know more insider tips to become a good blogger. Kelly was well prepared and I really love how she put the tips in bullet form, that definitely assisted us to absorb the knowledge better.
Based on Kelly's experience and sharing, I realized that
self-discipline the key point to become a successful blogger. Self-discipline will help a blogger to generate consistent contents with high quality photos and informative captions, which in turn will bring in loyal readers and followers. Another key point is to stay
passionate with blogging, which is the quality in Kelly that I admire the most. Without the passion and love, one can never be so persistent and consistent in blogging. I shall keep reminding myself and work harder!
On the other hand,
aesthetically pleasing photos and
informative captions are very important when it comes to Instagram sharing. We had a fun mini contest on Instagram posting challenge, look how
Sherlyn and
Cece worked on their flatlay in 10 minutes!

It's a really fun and challenging contest especially when we have to post the photos immediately after snapping the pictures. I'm a slowpoke when it comes to Instagram posting and it generally takes me half a day to get everything done and posted - I will style the flatlay and background, take photos using DSLR camera, edit the photos, write down the caption and have everything posted on Instagram. Therefore, it's such a challenge for me to take photo using my phone camera and edit it using handphone, I don't usually do this! Hence, I'm really happy and surprised that my Instagram post was selected as the judges' favourite post, it's all thanks to the useful tips shared by Kelly! Check out my Instagram post here.

In a nutshell, all of us truly enjoyed the event and have learnt so much from this meaningful sharing session. Really appreciate the efforts of Guardian Malaysia team and Kelly for sharing with us generously. Hopefully we can improve ourselves and make JB a more happening place!
