Founded in 1974, Neostrata is a skin care brand that evolves around the “Science of Skin Regeneration”. The brand name Neostrate translates to "new layers", I guess that roughly gives you some idea on the core value of Neostrate: to correct visible signs of aging. Tailored for middle aged ladies, Neostrata repairs and rejuvenates aged skin through 3 fundamental formulation pillars:

Neostrata Skin Active series

Neostrata Skin Active series is a high-potency, multi-mechanism skincare regimen designed for photodamaged skin. The series includes Exfoliating Wash, Intense Eye Therapy, Matrix Support SPF 30, Triple Firming Neck Cream, Cellular Restoration and Firming Collagen Booster.

Neostrata Skin Active series

While I thought that Exfoliating Wash is meant to be used 1-2 times a week, it’s actually a mild exfoliating cleanser which can be used on a daily basis. This soap-free and fragrance-free cleanser is suitable for all skin type and it deep cleans to remove debris from pores. Despite of its exfoliating action, the cleanser does not strip moisture off my skin and instead, it keeps my skin well hydrated after using. 

Firming Collagen Booster 

Saggy skin and wrinkles are caused by the loss of collagen from the skin cell. This is why we need Firming Collagen Booster to enhance and preserve existing collagen underneath the skin. Gardenia Cell Culture in the booster can help to preserve existing collagen by inhibiting enzymes that break down collagen, hence maintaining a plump and youthful skin. A healthy, stronger collagen will make skin to appear firmer and more lifted, thus creating an overall younger look. 

Intense Eye Therapy

Do you know that the skin near the eye area is the thinnest on our face? This explains why is the under eye area so delicate and here is always the place that shows aging sign the most. As we age, it’s inevitable for the under eye area to become wrinkled, saggy, sunken and discolored. Containing NeoGlucosamine (NAG) and Apple Stem Cell Extract, Intense Eye Therapy is able to smoothen and brighten the under eye area. NeoGlucosamine (NAG) is the building block of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which eventually firms and builds skin volume. This will help to improve sunken eyes and one is going to look more youthful and energetic by having a fuller under eye area. Apple Stem Cell Extracts on the other hand, protects and helps to maintain the function of essential cells. Texture wise, Intense Eye Therapy is one of the richest eye cream that I have ever used. The cream is dense and rich but at the same time, no greasy at all. It feels a little heavy on the skin due to its deep moisturizing nature but I’m fine with it. 

Matrix Support SPF 30 

UV is the catalyst for skin aging! When we talk about skin aging, what comes into your mind the first? Wrinkles? Pigmentation? Dark Sports? All these are the main contributors to make one looks old and haggard. Thus, anti-aging regime needs to start from daily UV protection. Matrix Support SPF 30 is a sunscreen with broad spectrum SPF 30. It improves skin texture and uneven tone while helping skin to look firmer and healthier. One thing that I really like about Matrix Support SPF 30 is that it does not leave a scary white cast on the face. Instead, my face looks natural, as if I have nothing on! Containing active ingredient, Retinol, Matrix Support SPF 30 can help to diminish the appearance of age spots. Keep using the sunscreen every day to achieve a clearer and brighter skin!

Triple Firming Neck Cream 

If you didn’t know yet, the skin on your neck can betray your age. One of the common mistake made by many girls is that they have focused anti-aging skin care on their face and have completely forgotten about taking care of their neck. The skin at neck area is delicate hence it gets wrinkled very easily. Triple Firming Neck Cream is my favourite product from Neostrata Skin Active series. I love it for its oil-free formula so that my long hair will not stick onto my neck, which I find it really disgusting and gross. Triple Firming Neck Cream is able to smoothen neck creases by 90%, hence resulting in a firmer, lifted and more evenly toned neck skin. While I have not used the neck cream long enough to see a visible change on my skin texture, I can feel that my skin has become significantly smoother and softer. 

Cellular Restoration

Cellular Restoration focuses on night repair, which is vital to fight against aged skin. Containing 5% Glycolic Acid, 5% Gluconolactone and 5% Maltobionic Acid, the cream acts as a moisturizer which targets the skin’s hydrating matrix and oxidative stress for a firmer, more toned and vibrant appearance. The cream is extremely rich and moisturizing that I replace it over my usual sleeping mask.
