I wanted to pay Grill Bar Steakhouse a visit long time ago after reading Tony, the Johor Kaki's review on their Signature Ultimate Nachos but you know, I'm constantly travelling from places to places and my longest stay in JB in the past few years was a mere one month! Imagine that! Without further ado, let's check Grill Bar Steakhouse @Taman Pelangi out!
本身對Taman Pelangi 並不太熟悉,平時也很少會到這一帶用餐。最常光顧的就是順利麵粉粿(這絕對是新山學生的集體回憶哈!),在這一帶也總是來匆匆去匆匆,很少explore這裡的美食。話説新山在我離開的這些年不停地在改變,這次回來,實在是需要好好Update一下了呵呵~ 早前在Johor Kaki 的部落格讀到Grill Bar Steakhouse 的食記時就已經想過去試試看他們家的Ultimate Nachos了,奈何從KL回來之後根本就沒多少時間呆在新山= = 但時間挪一挪還是有的,今天終于有機會到坐落于Taman Pelangi 的Grill Bar Steakhouse用餐啦!
I know it sounds silly but I couldn't help imagining Grill Bar Steakhouse as The Leaky Cauldron in Diagon Alley! Was hoping Hagrid to walk out from the door lol!

The combination of red bricks and warm yellow lighting gave me an illusion that I entered an European bistro. I love the ambience and atmosphere here!
推開木門后,進入眼簾的是大量的紅塼和懶洋洋的暗黃燈光,瞬間有置身國外的錯覺啊~
這裝潢未免也太有心思太有情調了吧!
(而且心裏一直在暗暗希望或許再走多兩步就會看到溫暖的火爐了哈哈)
看得出老闆Chef Gary花了很多心思在佈置Grill Bar Steakhouse,墻上的復古味極濃的照片配上黃澄澄的燈光,整個氛圍就很醉人啊!

Onion Blossom is one of the Grill Bar's signature dishes. It was presented in a very nice and creative way, just like a blossom of flower! The deep fried onions were crispy outside and inside, they were sweet and juicy. All of the "flower petals" were perfectly floured, not even one was missed out. I like this dish very much and it's a must try in Grill Bar Steakhouse!
把洋蔥炸得那麽漂亮Gary你也太有才了吧?Onion Blossom是Grill Bar Steakhouse的招牌菜,我當然要試一試咯!仔細地看了看Onion Blossom, 發現每一朵花辦都沾上了粉,沒有漏網之魚哦呵呵~ 外脆内軟的口感非常好,被粉裹著的洋蔥被炸得熟透,洋蔥的甜味完全被釋放出來,重點是你完全找不到生洋蔥的辛嗆味道,推薦這道!
Oh I like this Starter Platter! Everything came in a small portion so that I can try all of them without feeling very full. My favourite goes to Organic Pumpkin Chips, it was really sweet and moist.

Bagel woohoo! I placed a high expectation on this Bagel so I was a bit disappointed when I found that it was a bit hard on my first bite. Well it was my fault for spending too much time on taking photos on the food, I shall try them out another time, piping hot one okay?

I was sitting comfortably when I was about to savour the Lobster Bisque Soup (Table manners failed T.T) I sent a spoonful of Lobster Bisque Soup to my mouth and I sat up straight in my chair immediately. I thought I just swallowed an ocean of lobsters! The aroma and flavour were really deep and strong, and it was a bit too strong for my liking. However, the soup went very well with the Garlic Bread, they just paired up so nicely! (Not sure if this is the correct way of savouring but don't care lah hahaha!)

Let's this picture do the talking. Chef Gary didn't add a single drop of water in preparing this Wild Truffle Mushroom Soup and the soup is a pure goodness of wild truffle mushroom! You can find a generous amount of mushroom pieces in every spoon of this soup.
這應該不必我多說了吧?從照片就看得出這Wild Truffle Mushroom Soup絕對是真材實料的蘑菇湯,每一口都保證吃得到分明的蘑菇顆粒。Grill Bar Steakhouse的蘑菇湯在準備過程中完全不加一滴水,所以喝起來和特別有菇味。

Bacon & Basil Tomato Chowder was my favourite soup among all. Tomatoes gave a hint of sourness to this soup, making it so refreshing and appetizing.

Lamb Tenderloin important from New Zealand was marinated with herbs and grilled. It was done medium, which is just to my liking. Look at the pretty pink colour! I can imagine how tender and juicy the lamb will be and yes, it didn't disappoint me. Another plus point is that it's not gamey at all! This is my favourite main course of the night and I had almost a whole tenderloin by myself!
用香料腌過的羊肉被烤至五分熟,中間部分呈現漂亮的粉紅色,賣相非常地好!來自紐西蘭的羊肉口感鮮嫩,而且完全沒有羊臊味哦!這是我最最喜歡的一點呵呵~ 當晚衆多佳肴中,我最喜歡的就是這道烤里脊羊肉了!無論是單吃羊肉還是配上店家的特調醬汁一起吃味道都一樣很棒!(沒錯的話我自己就吃掉一條tenderloin了哈!)

Aha it's codfish! My all time favourite after salmon. (I have too many favourites I guess......) Chef Gary is very particular when it comes to ingredients and he insisted to use the tail portion of Norwegian Silver Codfish to prepare this dish. The fish was thus less oily and free from the muddy taste.

The roasted free-range chicken rolls were filled with pesto and duck bacon. The roasted chicken was so fragrant! As can be seen from the cross-section diagram photo above, the chicken was remained succulent after the roasting process, I love it! The duck bacon played magic and gave a flavourful taste to this dish.
Chef Gary只採用沒打針的Kampung雞(都跟你說了Chef Gary對食材非常講究,一定會讓你吃到上等的呵呵)烤過的雞肉依然鮮嫩多汁,雞肉卷裏面包著Duck Bacon和pesto 醬,味道不止豐富還很有層次感呢!

Let's start the desserts from my favourite, the Apple Crumble, which is another signature dish of Grill Bar Steakhouse. The caramelized apple slices tasted sweet, and the hint of apple made a perfect combination with the home-made biscuit crumble. A healthier choice of dessert I would say.

Chef Gary真的是個對生活充滿熱誠的人,對於美食的高水準要求更是不容置疑。對了,差點忘記告訴大家,所有主菜旁的小配菜都超級好吃的!我吃了好多好多的菠菜啊!(一直顧著吃都忘了問Chef Gary菠菜是怎麽弄的= =)甚至連馬鈴薯這樣小小的配角,Chef Gary都會用香料配著一起烤。這樣的小細節也能照顧得那麽一絲不苟,難怪Grill Bar Steakhouse在星期四晚上也會高朋滿座。或許Grill Bar Steakhouse的價位對不少人來説有點高,但你吃到的絕對是一等的好食材。偷偷告訴大家,Grill Bar Steakhouse很快就要開分店咯!Err,應該不算是分店,姐妹店比較貼切才對,等姐妹店開張后再來和大家分享^^
這篇真的的花了我不少時間,竟然弄了整整一星期才寫好(囧)本篇的照片實在是不堪入目啊!事緣Grill Bar Steakhouse的燈光實在是太浪漫太有情調了啦,我已經竭盡所能但照片還是一團糟T.T 一直都有個First Pay Wish List,等我畢業工作后領了第一份薪水想要的Wish List(現在我的全副身家都撥給旅行了,怎麽可以亂花咧)之前都是以Jeremy Scott的翅膀鞋為榜首,看來得先把翅膀鞋踢到一邊去了哈!説到JS,不得不提到Chef Gary的妹妹Willow!無敵,我是說無敵無敵無敵酷的女生!在Grill Bar Steakhouse一看到她的時候我就一直在偷藐她的鞋子,太!帥!了!時尚感滿分,連名字也要比別人的好聽!(完全粉絲模式)合照是有一張啦但我覺得不太好看所以就不放上來了,大家就自行想象Willow有多酷吧!
